Real stories from people who chose to retire with Sullivan Retirement Residence in Siem Reap.
We have found Siem Reap a wonderful town to retire to, walkable, intensely friendly and possessing a wealth of leisure and gastronomic delights. With local businesses side by side with international restaurants and high-end hotels it’s easy to step between the old and new worlds, all at prices that defy belief!
Tom and his team at Sullivan Retirement Residence, look after everything else that’s needed for a truly pampered lifestyle. Our spacious and comfortable apartment is in a quiet area just minutes from the centre of town. We have access to an onsite private driver, which makes getting around very easy. Further, having access to WiFi and British TV helps to stay in touch with what’s happening at home, and Tom’s weekly and monthly events have taken us places that we might not have ventured out to, and introduced us to a wider expat community expanding our social circle.
Honestly, what’s not to like?
After our trial at Sullivan Retirement Residence in Siem Reap, we were pretty confident that Tom and his team would deliver quality accommodations, services, and experiences. They have not disappointed! We have been here since early 2025 and the residential experience has been top-notch. In addition to the amazing activities arranged through Sullivan Residence, we have enjoyed discovering all that the community of Siem Reap has to offer. The restaurant and bar scene is exceptional. Live music venues around town cater to a variety of tastes. We participate regularly in a number of activities such as attending our local gym, language lessons, dining regularly with a social group, and volunteering at a local school. Additionally, we have enjoyed access to a number of other activities such as chess club, book club, walking club, art and pottery classes, pétanque, speaker presentations, and art exhibitions around the city. Both the local and expat communities have been very open and welcoming to newcomers. Our active retirement in Siem Reap and at Sullivan Retirement Residence has been truly wonderful.
Everything about the Residence is beautiful. Perfectly appointed apartments, approximately 15 minutes from the centre of Siem Reap. Don’t worry if you don’t feel like walking, the on-site drivers have you there in minutes. Lunch and dinner is served in your apartment Monday to Friday, or you can have it by the pool, on the roof top sun terrace or dine with friends. More than 50 dishes to choose from and all freshly prepared. Delicious!
However, where the Residence excels is the activities both on and off-site. These are optional with no pressure to attend but why wouldn’t you want to try something new? We’ve had the most amazing days: candle making, basket weaving, go-karting, quad biking around the most beautiful scenery. We visited Kulen Mountain with the most amazing waterfalls. An evening was spent at the local Endora Restaurant, an absolute must visit restaurant, where we enjoyed their Beef Wellington Night (veggie option also available). A visit to Cambodia would not be complete without a visit to the Temples, Angkor Wat at sunset has to be seen. Aqua aerobics in the onsite pool, party nights on the roof terrace, pool competitions and Khmer language lessons. Watching the sunset on Tonle Sap Lake with drinks and food, it really doesn’t get any better.
Sullivan Residence Retirement has it all and more. If you are genuinely looking at how to spend your retirement years, if you are fit and young at heart, I can do no more than recommend you start a conversation with Tom. You won’t be disappointed.
I am a single retired woman of a certain age with a huge zest for life and adventure. When the opportunity arose to live in Siem Real in Sullivan Retirement Residence, I was, quite literally, the first on board.
Following a 2 week trial, I have now been living here since late 2025.
I find that the activities provided as part of the package gives me the perfect framework within which to pursue other areas of interest. So far, these have been many and varied. From go-karting and quad bike driving to art classes, wine tasting evenings, forays into the countryside to visit areas of beauty and interest, sunset rooftop meals and numerous others.
These plus the weather, people, food and wonderful lifestyle have made me realise that I have found my home. In a supporting and welcoming community of retirees, all of whom are ‘Up for Living Life to the Full’
